Life's not easy sometimes, we can easily get tossed about and end up feeling like we've lost our way. Lucky for us, daily meditation and the skilful mental states that it cultivates, is a simple and effective tool for helping us navigate choppy waters. This course helps you establish a daily meditation practice in a simple and lighthearted environment. The course starts at 7:30pm on Tuesday July 15th and runs for six weeks. During the course, you will learn several core meditation techniques and understand how they can impact your life. There will be teachings and discussion on what the present moment actually is and why being there is helpful, physiology, neurology, wisdom, compassion, and how we can generate more skilful behaviour patterns. The course is accompanied by take-home material and written meditation instructions. Throughout the course, lessons are drawn from Buddhism, modern science, philosophy, indigenous knowledge systems and secular mindfulness. This creates a course that is holistic, easily accessible, and aligned with our present-day lives.  Meditation helps us to understand the layers of our lives - our thoughts, beliefs and behaviours - and allows us to know ourselves on a deeper level. To some, this can sound scary, especially if we have been pushing that side of us away for many years. Rest assured that these meditation techniques are a gentle way to start this process of integration and they will encourage learnings to happen in timeframes that are best for you.  ​ Everyone has their own reasons for learning meditation.
